Thinking & Intuition
Te, Ti, Ne, Ni — the mind. Logic, systems, what-ifs, and “this is where it’s going.”
Those two-letter codes — Ti, Se, Ne, and the rest — are the cognitive functions. Thinking and Intuition read masculine. Sensing and Feeling read feminine.
Thinking and Intuition (Te, Ti, Ne, Ni) — logic, vision, patterns, where it’s going. Sensing and Feeling (Se, Si, Fe, Fi) — the room, the nest, the body, people, and values. This is about the functions, not whether a person is a man or a woman.
Te, Ti, Ne, Ni — the mind. Logic, systems, what-ifs, and “this is where it’s going.”
Se, Si, Fe, Fi — atmosphere, nest, body, values, and people. Se notices how the space feels right now. Si keeps it that way: clean, familiar, comfortable.
Organizes people, plans, and systems with measurable logic. Efficiency, metrics, and “does it work out there?”
Builds a private logical model. Precision, categories, and “does this actually make sense?”
Attuned to the surroundings as they are right now — light, vibe, texture, how the room looks and feels. Aesthetic environment, not a spreadsheet.
The nest. Cleanliness, comfort, “this is how the house should be.” Memory of what felt right last time — including keeping the space cared for.
Reads the social field. Harmony, manners, group values, and making other people feel held.
Personal ethics and authenticity. Quiet conviction about what is right, dear, or intolerable.
Brainstorms in public. Patterns, what-ifs, and leaping connections between ideas that aren’t obviously related.
Single-point vision. Future images, “this is where it’s going,” arriving as a compressed inner knowing.
Each type’s first function inherits that function’s polarity.
Jung originally parked Sensing with masculine Logos and Intuition with feminine Eros. This page does not. Thinking and Intuition (Te, Ti, Ne, Ni) are masculine — mind, vision, patterns. Sensing and Feeling (Se, Si, Fe, Fi) are feminine — environment, nest, body, people. Se is how the space feels now; Si is keeping it that way. Extraversion vs introversion is a separate axis (outer vs inner), not a gender. People of any sex use all eight functions.
